Die Einstellung der optimalen Sitzposition hat oftmals einen größeren Einfluss auf die Radleistung als alle Komponenten-enhancements (Aero-Laufräder, Leichtbauteile, etc). Beim Bike fitting geht es darum „Mensch und Maschine" zusammenwachsen zu lassen und premier aufeinander abzustimmen. Die richtige Sitzposition ist jedoch nicht universell, sondern individuell. Daher berücksichtigt ein gutes Bike becoming auch beides: Fahrer und Fahrrad.

Der Israman ist die anspruchsvollste Mitteldistanz, die ich bisher absolviert habe. Er hat meine Erwartungen - ich wusste ja, dass es viele Höhenmeter gibt, dass es windig wird und dass es auch kalt sein kann - noch übertroffen. Hier kann man nicht schummeln oder sich verstecken. Auch drei Tage nach dem Rennen spüre ich noch meinen Rücken und meine Oberschenkel. Das Ding ist wirklich hart!

Leider ist meine Vorbereitung für den Israman arbeits- und krankheitsbedingt nicht wirklich intestine und strukturiert gelaufen, aber damit muss ich klar kommen. Seit dem Rennen in Swakopmund saß ich leider kein Mal mehr auf dem Fahrrad und war nur ein paar Mal beim Schwimmen. Immerhin habe ich im Januar wöchentlich lange Läufe absolviert.

Am three. Dezember 2017 stand ich nach quick 10 Jahren endlich mal wieder an der Startlinie zu einem Mitteldistanz Triathlon, dem Sandman Triathlon in Swakopmund. Über die Vorbereitung und das Rennen habe ich ja schon ausführlich berichtet, aber schon in den letzten Wochen der Namibia-Vorbereitung struggle mir klar, dass es das noch nicht gewesen sein konnte. Denn nach wie vor gab und gibt es natürlich noch einige Ziele zu erreichen.

Grundlagenläufe im iciness sind tremendous! Sie sollen die Grundlage für das spezifischere, intensivere Lauftraining im späteren Saisonverlauf legen. Aber ein weit verbreiteter Mythos setzt "Grundlage" stets mit dem langen, langsamen Dauerlauf gleich. Wer diese Trainingseinheit ausschließlich so gestaltet, verfehlt den Zweck dieser wichtigen Einheit.
